ADESA / OVE

Dealer-focused. Large inventory, franchise trade-ins. OVE = online only extension of ADESA.

1

Get Your Dealer/Member Credentials

ADESA requires dealer license or co-op membership credentials. As a FlipLane co-op partner, your ByrddawgsOS dashboard has your ADESA access credentials.

Access via ByrddawgsOS โ†’ Auction Credentials
2

Browse Inventory on ADESA.com or OVE.com

Filter by make, model, year, mileage, condition grade. OVE has 24/7 buy-now listings. ADESA live auctions run on scheduled days per location.

3

Run Condition Reports

Each vehicle has a Condition Report (CR) graded 1.0โ€“5.0. Grades 3.0+ are typically clean. CRs include photos and damage notes. Download before bidding.

CR fee: $2โ€“$5 per report. Always worth it.
4

Calculate Your Max Bid

ARV โˆ’ repairs โˆ’ buyer fee โˆ’ transport โˆ’ your target profit = max bid. Never bid above this number. Buyer fees are typically $200โ€“$500 depending on sale price.

5

Win & Coordinate Transport

After winning: pay within 24โ€“48 hrs (varies by location). Arrange transport via FlipLane shipping request in ByrddawgsOS or directly with a carrier.

6

Title Processing

ADESA transfers title at point of sale. Submit your title processing request through ByrddawgsOS to have it handled on your behalf.

Copart

Salvage & clean title. Massive volume. Great for project vehicles, parts, and high-ROI rebuilds.

1

Register as a Member

Copart requires a Basic or Premier membership. Premier ($400/yr) gives you unlimited bids. Basic members pay per bid. Dealer license or broker letter required.

Your FlipLane credentials qualify for broker access
2

Search & Inspect Listings

Copart.com has 125,000+ active listings. Use filters: title type (salvage vs clean), run & drive status, buy-now vs auction. Photos are available for all lots.

3

Understand Salvage Title Implications

Salvage = insurance write-off. After repair and state inspection, it becomes a "rebuilt" title. Rebuilt titles sell at 20โ€“40% discount vs clean. Factor this into ARV.

Some states restrict rebuilt title registration โ€” check DMV.org
4

Place Pre-Bids

Set max pre-bid before auction starts. Copart runs live auctions Monโ€“Fri. Proxy bidding handles increments automatically up to your max.

5

Pay & Arrange Pickup

Payment due within 3 days. Copart charges storage after 2 days โ€” move fast. Use Copart's own transport network or a third-party carrier.

Storage fees: $15โ€“$40/day after grace period

IAAI (Insurance Auto Auctions)

Insurance salvage specialist. Clean and salvage, but skews toward total-loss fleet vehicles.

1

Create an Account on IAAI.com

IAAI (now part of IAA/RB Global) requires dealer or broker registration. Public bidding available in some states โ€” verify before assuming access.

2

Browse BidSpotter or IAAI.com

IAAI uses BidSpotter.com for live online bidding. Search by vehicle type, damage type, odometer, and run date. Filter by "Run & Drive" to limit risk.

3

Review Loss Codes

IAAI assigns loss codes to each vehicle (collision, flood, theft recovery, hail, etc). Flood and fire are highest risk โ€” parts and wiring can fail months later.

Stick to collision-only damage for first few deals
4

Bid & Win

Auctions run by location on a rotating schedule. Check the IAAI auction calendar. Winning bid + buyer fee + applicable taxes = your total at checkout.

5

Arrange Tow / Transport

Most IAAI vehicles are non-runners. Budget for flatbed transport from day one. IAAI offers transport through its own network or third-party brokers.
